“Bedi” is a gujarati/hindi term loosely means fetters or chains in the legs.
In Pirana Satpanth, some people are made to believe that to know whether they have Imamshah’s (later renamed to Hanstej) approval for any of the question they may have, a “bedi” is “tied” around the legs. If this bedi opens it is assumed that they have the approval.
